DEMOS supports all municipalities in Kosovo to improve local governance to act in a more democratic way and manage their operations better.

The Municipal Performance Grant is a reward for municipalities that are doing a great job. The better the municipalities perform, the more funds they receive from DEMOS and the Ministry of Local Government Administration. 

The Municipal Performance Management System (PMS) is a mechanism that measures how well a municipality is doing in terms of accountability, transparency, inclusiveness, etc. The PMS helped figure all that out. 

However, DEMOS’ support is not limited to towns and villages. The project also provides municipal officers training and technical support through which they can serve the community better.

DEMOS also works closely with the central government to improve policies and strengthen the system. 

Thanks to the support of DEMOS, municipalities are transforming. It is a story of hard work, cooperation, and the belief that even the smallest change can make a big difference in people’s lives.
