Twenty (20) women trained in starting a business for collection and processing of Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP)
12 June 2013

Non timber forest products broadly include all non-industrial vegetation in forests and agro forestry environments that has commercial value. A women association (multiethnic association ‘NVO ikebana’) from Sterpce recently did an investment in purchasing equipments (dryer, packaging machine and grinder), with these, ladies will start up a business, generate incomes and create job opportunity. 20 women, members of the association, are dealing with these equipments and with this business for first time. As result of it, they kindly asked the S4RE to help them with training. A resource person has been engaged to provide three days training (from 3rd to 5th of June) in Firaj/Sterpce with main topics related to their business: how to collect different NTFP, use of equipment, sustainability collection, processing and packaging of products. All training sessions have been provided in classroom and practically by working with equipments and collecting products directly in the forest.
