In keeping with its principal aim to improve the economic situation and reduce the unemployment among the youth , convinced of the fact raspberry cultivation can generate significant income, the S4RE organized a training for cultivation of raspberries in the Dragas area. The training comprised of 14 sessions was attended 16 youth. Following the conclusion of the training cycle, 5 youth decided to jointly start a raspberry cultivation business. The group leader provided 0.25 hectares of land for farming use in the village of Blac. Seedlings and the irrigation system have been provided by S4RE, while other investments were made by the group itself. Though they have a short shelf life and a short marketing season the demand for raspberries is usually very big and high profits can be obtained. As a result, the farmers and their families will benefit from this project.
