DEMOS incentivizes good performance of municipalities with grants. The annual awarding ceremony for the performance based grants was on held 22 September. Fifteen partner municipalities of DEMOS have been awarded with grants. The total grant amount was around 1 million Euros. The allocation was based on the DEMOS performance based grant scheme. This grant uses data from the Performance Management System of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, the property tax department of the Ministry of Finance and the annual municipal audit report of the Auditor General.

DEMOS Launching Ceremony On September 18, 2014 during the launching ceremony, DEMOS signed memorandums of understanding with its 17 partner municipalities and awarded them grants for 2015 based on their performance. A total of 806,500 euro will be made available for municipal projects in 2015. Municipalities will use the grants for works, supplies or services, in the fields of waste management, public spaces, municipal traffic, financial management and local democracy.
